About Us

Special Music, formed in 1992, has provided wedding music for over 100 couples in various churches, social halls, and indoor/outdoor settings throughout southeastern Virginia. As experienced, professional musicians, Michelle, John, and Dan also serve as band directors in the Hampton, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg-James City County school systems. In addition to their work together, they can also be frequently seen performing individually with the Virginia Symphony, Williamsburg Sinfonia, Williamsburg Choral Guild, Virginia Wind Symphony, and various church orchestras/chamber ensembles.

Special Music offers the complete service of planning and performing music for your wedding ceremony and/or reception. With their collective backgrounds in church music, the trio specializes in providing personalized attention to each couple when selecting appropriate music for various religious affiliations and musical tastes. Special Music is equally suited for indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
